Propecia, the active ingredient in the treatment of male pattern hair loss, is now available in the UK as a tablet, capsule, and topical cream.
For those who are keen on the option of Propecia (Finasteride), this is a great option for people who have tried other treatments before and who are keen to get the treatment they need from a healthcare professional.
Finasteride is a drug that is used to treat hair loss in men and is the only drug that has been approved by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in the treatment of this condition. Although it has been shown to be effective in treating hair loss, there are several side effects that may be experienced with taking Finasteride.
Here is an in-depth breakdown of some of the most common side effects that you will experience with taking Finasteride:
One of the most common side effects of taking Propecia is the loss of a hairline or the loss of an area of the scalp that is visible on your scalp. The loss of this area can be a result of hair follicle issues and may be a result of taking finasteride or another drug that is related to finasteride.
Male pattern baldness is caused by a condition that affects the hair follicles in your scalp and the hair that they are growing on. This can be caused by factors such as age, genetic factors, and hormonal factors. Finasteride works by blocking an enzyme that is thought to be responsible for causing the hair to fall out.
There is a significant increase in the sexual desire and performance of men who take Finasteride. These men may experience reduced libido, difficulty maintaining an erection, and erectile problems.
Depression is a condition that is experienced by some men when taking Finasteride. This can be caused by the drug's side effects and psychological factors.
Women may experience decreased libido while taking Finasteride.
Mood swings can occur as a side effect of taking Finasteride or other drugs that are related to finasteride. This can include depression, emotional or relationship issues, and anxiety. These side effects are usually not serious and can be treated at home. However, if you do experience these side effects you should speak to a healthcare professional.
People who take Finasteride should be concerned about their sexual performance and should be concerned about their overall health. This may include a concern about their weight or their mental state or relationship status, as well as concerns about the effects of the drug.
People who take Finasteride or other drugs that are related to finasteride may have sexual side effects. These side effects include:
Some of the other adverse effects of Finasteride that you will experience with taking Finasteride include:
In rare cases, sexual side effects of Finasteride may include more serious conditions such as depression, sudden hearing loss, or problems with ejaculation. These can be treated at home or by taking the medication at the same time.

A generic alternative to finasteride is also available in a brand name of the drug that is also sold by Healthylife. These generic drugs are also available in a generic form. These generic drugs are also effective in treating female pattern hair loss.
Finasteride is indicated for use in the treatment of male pattern hair loss, particularly for men over the age of 1 year or at increased risk for progression to clinically evident hair loss. In females there is evidence of efficacy in treating hair loss in men. In women the medicine is indicated in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Propecia and finasteride are indicated in the treatment of male pattern hair loss which occurs in association with therapy with finasteride. Finasteride is not indicated for use in women.
The daily dose of Finasteride should be taken at the same time every day, preferably on an as needed basis, starting with the lowest effective dose and gradually decreasing to less than the lowest recommended dose. The dose may be increased in a single daily dose up to the maximum dose of 1 mg per day. The maximum recommended daily dose of 1 mg increased from a maximum of 2.5 mg per day to 5 mg per day at a frequency of three or four times per week. The frequency of daily daily dose increases further in a pattern which does not exceed 10 mg. The time taken for the plasma concentration of the drug to build up to the required level must be kept short in order to minimise the potential for drug accumulation.
Finasteride is rapidly absorbed and the mean plasma concentration is attained in 3-6 hours. The lower the dose is, the shorter the half-life of Finasteride is prolonged. The half-life of the drug is 2 to 3 hours in men and 1 to 2 hours in women.
In case of overdose the treatment should be withdrawn and a new patient should be treated with the same strength of medicine as used before. Treatment should be continued until the plasma concentration of the drug is within the therapeutic range. Overdosing of Finasteride may be treated with lower doses of Propecia or with the addition of lower doses of Minipress which is a hair loss medicine. Finasteride should not be used for more than 3 months without medical advice. If treatment is stopped, the Minipress product (Minipress®) is expected to have returned to the market within 4 months.
Finasteride should not be used in patients who suffer from any sensitivity to any of its excipients. Because of the presence of the drug in the blood this may increase the chance of a severe allergic reaction.
